A voyage beyond perfume, into the heart of India’s beauty and culture.

In 2023 I traveled to India on assignment for Xerjoff, an Italian luxury perfume house renowned for creating exclusive fragrances that blend the finest natural ingredients with artistic craftsmanship. My task was to document the delicate and fascinating world of the Damask rose — from the harvest in the fields, to the distillation process that transforms petals into precious essences used in perfumery. It was an experience that connected me not only with the art of fragrance, but also with the people, traditions, and landscapes that surround this age-old practice.

Beyond my work for Xerjoff, I took the opportunity to discover some of India’s most iconic destinations, each offering a unique glimpse into the country’s soul. Jaipur, the Pink City, revealed its royal palaces, lively streets, and serene cenotaphs. Pushkar, with its sacred lake and spiritual atmosphere, was a place of devotion and timeless rituals. Agra, home to the legendary Taj Mahal, showcased one of the greatest symbols of love and beauty ever built. Finally, the Ranthambore National Park allowed me to step into the wilderness, where the elusive Bengal tiger reigns supreme among ancient ruins and dense forests.
